2. Data Collection Policy
Our website and Mobile application are intended to provide information to users about our insurance related services. For each user of the website and mobile application, our server does not recognize any information regarding users’ domain or e-mail address. Sessions of users to the website and mobile application are monitored for service assurance purpose, but the user remains anonymous.
2.1 Personal Information
We collect personal information to enable users to subscribe to our services. We follow strict procedures in accordance with the required standards of Data Protection & storage to ensure security of users’ information. Whenever users are asked to fill in a form, we ensure that information that users provide details are kept confidential and secure by hosting it in Oman and is used only for the purpose of providing users with our services. The website and Mobile application collects only that information which is volunteered by the user, such as survey information and/or site registrations and the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail.
The very limited information collected is not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes and is used solely for the benefit of our users.
Such information is collected via direct submission from the individual user.
2.2 Website Cookies
We sometimes collect anonymous information from users to our digital platform to help us provide better customer service. This may be data pattern that captures and measures user activities on our digital platform or ‘cookies’ – a piece of information stored on the hard drive of a computer by a web server to enhance and simplify a website user’s experience by identifying a user if he/she has previously accessed that website. Cookies are commonly used on the Internet. The cookies used on this Site do not include any information that others could read and understand about users such as user name or any account or policy number. They contain no personal information about users.

However please note this will restrict certain services users can use. We are constantly striving to improve the quality of our service and the efficiency of our systems.
3. Use of users Personal Information
Users “personal information” means any information that users have given to us in connection with a service or product offered through our web site. When users buy insurance product or service from us, users will have access to a policy document relating to that product or service. If there is any conflict between the terms of this privacy statement and those of the specific privacy statement that applies to a particular product or service, then the terms of the latter will prevail. We will use users information to manage users insurance with us, including underwriting, claims handling, as well as for other legal and regulatory compliances and statistical analysis. This may include disclosing users’ information within the TLIS and to agents, suppliers, other insurers, or reinsurers who provide services on our behalf.
We do not disclose users information to anyone outside the TLIS except:
- Where we have users permission; or
- Where we are required or permitted to do so by law; or
- To other companies who provide a service to us or users; or
We do not send e-mails as a form of solicitation. We may however; send users an email in response to any questions and/or comments users might have about our website. Although users’ e-mail addresses are kept on file within our database which are hosted within Oman datacenter, we will never use it to send follow-up e-mails, or solicit users in anyway except expiry notifications.
4. Personal Information Data storage & Protection
We have appropriate security measures in place in our digital facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from users at our digital platform. Keeping data confidential by ensuring that it cannot be accessed either over a network or locally by unauthorized people is a key storage security principle for preventing data breaches.
TLIS secures users’ personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. If users have chosen to make an online payment for users’ insurance policy by debit or credit card, TLIS secures the personally identifiable information users provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. When personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted to other Web sites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol & follow the ISO27001 standard as well.
